Abstract


Eventhough nowadays, there’s a lungs function measuring equipment which is called
“Spirometer”, which is used for measuring the volume and function of human lungs, the
spirometer’s recording result still hard to be analyzed and diagnosed. Based on the
computer technology, the neural network program is used to recognize some lungs-wave
signal pattern, which are : VC, FVC, and MVV. In this research, the network learning
process applied the back propagation method, which can help analyzing the lungs
function wave system form, which as the one of method to help the doctor to read the
lungs function wave to be faster and more accurate. The data used in patient examination
is normal prediction counting for Indonesian people and recommended by ATS
(American Thoracic Society). In this research, we make a software application based on
Delphi programming language with neural network method to simulate analyzing the
lungs capacitance measuring device alongwith parameters within the lung capacitance
which is integrated with the database management system. By error value 0.1, the system
is able to identify the lungs wave form that have been already trained.
