Abstract


Antenatal care is care provided for pregnant women from conception  to delivery for
inspection and surveillance of pregnant women and fetuses. Schedule antenatal care done
four times that first visit (K1) in the first trimester, second visit (K2) in the second trimester,
third visit (K3) and fourth visit (K4) in the third trimester. Policies Ministry of Health in an
effort to decrease maternal and infant mortality through the Four Pillars strategy of Safe
Motherhood. The second pillar is the antenatal care or maternal health services. This aim of
this study was to analyze risk factors has effect of the quality of antenatal care in Mojokerto
distric. The type of this study was observational analytic with case control design with a
sample amounted to 80 mothers. Cases were mother giving birth asphyxia baby and
controls were mother giving birth non asphyxia baby. Data was analyzed using univariate,
bivariate and multivariate analysis with logistic regression. The results of this study showed
that 22 (55%) respondent has poor quality of antenatal care and 18 (45%) has good quality
of antenatal care. The risk factors was significant with quality of antenatal care included
middle education (p value = 0,026), knowledge kurang baik (p value = 0,003), knowledge
cukup baik (p value = 0,005), low husband support (p value = 0,018) and low family
support (p value = 0,018). The conclusion of this study is education, knowledge, social
support has effect of quality of antenatal care. Suggestions can be drawn based on the
results of this study are for health workers are expected to do health promotion to the public
and families about the importance of antenatal care and  antenatal care services that should
be obtained from health workers.
