ANALYSIS OF THE HUSBAND AND WIFE’S (COUPLES) ATTITUDE ON THE DECISION FOR CHILDBIRTH IN EARLY AGE

Abstract


Background. An increase happen in the birth rate early childhood / adolescent (15-19 years) which increased
18.9% from 35% to 53.9%. Health Center still have a lot of labor at an early age (45%). The impact of early age
labor to physically is very influential because the uterine muscles are very weak, not fully developed and
mentally too immature. Causes of maternal mortality is 90% at the time of delivery. Maternal mortality at an
early age <20 years is 2-5 times greater than in maternal mortality aged 20-29 years. Research purposes.
Knowing how the attitude to the decision of couples giving birth at an early age. Methods. The design of the
study was a case-control study. Number of samples of each group, as many as 25 people. The statistical test used
Chi Square. Results. There was no relationship between curiosity, honesty, discipline, responsibility attitude, the
attitude of cooperation, spiritual attitude, tolerance and self-confident attitude on decision-childbirth age.
Conclusion. The attitude of the couple does not affect the decision of childbirth in early age. Suggestion. Need
more comprehensive approach to the couples that are planning to give birth on the ideal age, can not only be
seen from the view of their attitude.
